The game has a main hub where you can craft monsters, potions, and items. The potions are incredibly useful depending on the situation. Potion crafting is something new the DLC adds to the hub world.
It’s an intricate dance when there’s status effects (both positive and negative), items, and many other things to consider in the equation. The game is a balancing act of reducing the overall incoming damage while maximizing the outgoing damage. Others protect the team by facing the enemies head on, but are unable to do much damage themselves.
Some support the team from the backlines, being prone to damage. Each unit has its own unique abilities and stats. You control up to four units at a time in turn based combat. The combat is deceptively simple but incredibly challenging. The combat becomes a fine balancing act of trying not to die while defeating your enemies. In Iratus, you play as a grouchy necromancer bent on taking over the world of the living by controlling an army of Frankensteined undead creatures. Thankfully, Iratus offers an easier difficulty mode for those who wish to ease themselves into the game and not plunge in head first. It is very similar to Darkest Dungeon, another game known for being incredibly difficult, punishing any mistake severely.
